And my edit.
So here is what I did, which really wasn't a whole lot:
Using Gimp:
-used the healing brush to erase the bags under his eyes
-used the lasso tool and color balance to eliminate the green and yellow shading around his eyes
-used the unsharp mask on eyes at 52
Using Lighroom:
-I used a preset called PH Surreal Moment (found in this set)

I like the brightness of the photo how it is centered around that adorable face but how the edges grow dark. I like how you intensified the background. Great edit. Your edit would even look great converted to B&w because it would bring out all the contrast you added. Love it!

Thanks for the presents link. I loaded them up today! Nice job getting rid of the green cast around the nose.
Very contemporary with the flat lighting, it would make for a great Sr. Portrait too. Love what you did with the edit.
